Canada continues inviting immigrants under the Parents and Grandparents Program Canada saw a 27.2% increase in new arrivals under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in October, bouncing back from an eight-month low in August, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. There were 2,525 new permanent residents in October, up from 1,975 in September and the August low of 1,515.  Despite a drop from 3,760 in May to 1,515 in August, current trends suggest the PGP could welcome 29,910 new residents by year's end , a 9.7% increase from last year. So far this year, the PGP has admitted 24,925 new residents, a three percent increase from the same period the previous year. Ontario saw the highest number of PGP arrivals, with 11,805 parents and grandparents settling there. During that time, the following provinces and territories attracted the following number of new permanent residents under the PGP: 50 - Newfoundland and Labrador 10 - Prince Edward Island 175 - Nova

  Alberta held two occupation-specific AAIP new invitation draws  On November 1, 2023, the Government of Alberta published the results of the AAIP new invitation rounds in the Alberta Express Entry Stream. On October 24 and 26, 2023, the province held two draws under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).  Alberta issued 22 invitations under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway. Invited candidates had a minimum score of 326. On October 26, the AAIP invited 100 candidates under the Family connection stream. As of November 1, 2023, the province invited 3,503 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry and issued 9,028 nomination certificates. Alberta invited the healthcare professionals and updated the AAIP inventory On October 10, 2023, the AAIP invited 13 candidates working in the healthcare sector who scored 327 points. This year, Alberta invited 3,381 candidates and issued 8,437 nomination certificates. In addition, on October 10, 2023, Alberta published an update considering the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) inventory. According to the new update, there were around:  2,462 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications,  668 Rural Renewal Stream applications,  212 Accelerated Tech Pathway applications,  114 Family Connection Stream applications,  167 applications from priority sectors, and  less than ten applications under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway.  About the AAIP Nomination certificate limits  The figures below are correct as of October 11, 2023.   Alberta updated the AAIP inventory and invited agriculture candidates On October 3, 2023, Alberta published an update considering the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) inventory. According to the new update, there were around:  2,307 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications,  626 Rural Renewal Stream applications,  191 Accelerated Tech Pathway applications,  125 Family Connection Stream applications,  157 applications from priority sectors, and  less than ten applications under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway.  In addition, on October 3, 2023, the AAIP invited 33 candidates working in the agriculture sector who scored 313 points.  This year, Alberta invited 3,368 candidates and issued 7,968 nomination certificates.   Alberta held four new occupation-specific AAIP draws On September 27, 2023, the Government of Alberta published the results of the new occupation-specific AAIP draws in the Alberta Express Entry Stream. On September 12, 2023, the province held two draws under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) and invited 300 and 16 candidates for Tourism and Hospitality and healthcare workers, respectively.  On September 14, the province issued 142 invitations under the Family Connection pathway, and on September 26, 2023, the AAIP invited 18 candidates under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway.  As of September 27, 2023, the province invited 3,335 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry and issued 7,968 nomination certificates.
