  Employment and Social Development Canada updated processing times for LMIA applications On November 7, 2023, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) updated the processing times for the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications under various streams. The City of Greater Sudbury invited 62 candidates under the RNIP round of invitations

The City of Greater Sudbury invited 62 candidates under the RNIP round of invitations On September 1, 2023, the City of Greater Sudbury held the new RNIP round of invitations. In this round, Sudbury considered 62 candidates.  The lowest score of these draws was 220 points, 20 points fewer than in the previous draw.  So far, the city has considered 292 candidates in 2023.  Last year, Sudbury invited a total of 154 applicants. Since the program's launch, the city has recommended at least 462 individuals under the RNIP. Canadian passport ranks higher as the most desirable travel document This year, the Canadian passport has moved from eighth to sixth place in the Henley Passport Index rankings. The passport scored 186 points but has climbed higher rankings than other countries’ passports.  The Henley Passport Index compares 199 passports for 227 travel destinations, giving 104 rankings for the top ones. Canada is known for having one of the world’s most powerful passports, offering visa-free access to 185 destinations . The top-ranked passport is from Singapore, with a score of 193.
