  PEI conducted a new invitation round and issued 69 new invitations On November 30, 2023, Prince Edward Island conducted a new invitation round in the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams and invited 69 candidates under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).  This draw invited candidates working in the Healthcare, Manufacturing, Food Processing, and Construction sectors. The province invited 2,394 candidates this year, including 2,199 under the Labour Impact and Express Entry categories and 61 business candidates.  According to the schedule, the next PEI PNP draw will occur on December 21, 2023.   IRCC held the first category-based Express Entry draw for agriculture and agri-food occupations On September 28, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the first occupation-specific Express Entry draw 267 and issued 600 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates working in Agriculture and agri-food occupations.  In round #267, the cut-off score was the record low for 2023 – 354 points.  The tie-breaking rule for this round was June 12, 2023, at 10:23:21 UTC.  As of September 26, 2023, there were 214,000 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool.  As a candidate, you can work with an immigration specialist.   608 candidates invited to the OINP Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams  On September 19, 2023, the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) issued 537 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the Masters Graduate stream.  The minimum score of this round was 41 points, three points fewer than it was in the previous draw.  In addition, on September 19, 2023, Ontario also invited 71 candidates under the PhD Graduate Stream. The minimum score for this draw was 40 points.  The profiles of selected candidates were created between November 22, 2022, and September 19, 2023.  As a candidate, you can work with an immigration specialist.   Canada may reconsider immigration targets Canada’s Housing Minister and former Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, hinted that the federal government may consider changes to the country’s high immigration levels. Fraser emphasized the need to align immigration policies with the absorptive capacity of communities, including housing, healthcare, and infrastructure.  He also suggested that the government should collaborate with other levels of government and institutions to consider immigration targets carefully. Fraser specifically mentioned the need to review the temporary immigration programs to ensure that they operate sustainably and not in an "uncapped way" based solely on demand. However, before making any changes, Fraser stated that the federal government would need to consult with other levels of government, as deciding which institutions accept international students is a matter for provincial governments, as well as institutions that have "a duty to play a part
