 SINP Application Processing Times for 2023 updated

On August 15, 2023, Saskatchewan updated the processing time of various streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Every quarter (three months), the processing time is revised. It displays the average time it took to process an application during that quarter. Each category's time is measured in weeks. Processing times vary and are not necessarily a reliable predictor of future applications.


The average time it takes to process 80 percent of applications is explained below. It is calculated from the time an application is received until the time it is processed.



What are the SINP Application Processing Times for 2023?


In the second quarter of 2023, SINP application processing times are given as:

 

  • In the International Skilled Worker category, the processing time in the Employment Offer stream was three weeks; in the Occupation In-Demand stream, it was 21 weeks; and in the Express Entry stream - 23 weeks. 

  • The processing time for the Tech Talent Pathway was two weeks, while for Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot, it was four weeks. 

  • In the Saskatchewan Experience category, the processing time for all streams (the Existing Work Permit stream, Health Professionals, International Students, Truck Drivers, and Hospitality Workers streams) was one week. 

  • In the Entrepreneur and Farm categories, the processing time for the Entrepreneur Applications was nine weeks, while for the Entrepreneur Nominations, it was one week. 

  • For the Farmers' stream, it was 18 weeks. 

  • The Job Approval Process, the authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP, took 15 weeks for specified workers and 26 weeks for not specified workers.


How to Apply for SINP? 


The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers a pathway to permanent residence in Canada. The Province of Saskatchewan, through the SINP:


  • Non-Canadians who want to make Saskatchewan their home are invited to submit an application for residency.

  • Nominates successful applicants for permanent residency in Canada to the federal government.


The SINP is simply a first step in the process of becoming a permanent resident of Saskatchewan. SINP provides candidates with the following benefits: competitive application processing times AND Provincial immigration officers that can explain requirements may assist.


The final decision on SINP nominations is made by the Government of Saskatchewan. Successful candidates will be recognized as a SINP nominee when they apply for permanent residence status with IRCC.

BC invited up to 218 skilled candidates under the BC PNP  On February 6, 2024, the Government of British Columbia held new invitation draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and issued invitations to apply to qualified and skilled candidates with work experience in healthcare, childcare, construction, and veterinary care occupations.  In the general draw, the province invited 102 candidates. The minimum score for candidates invited to this draw was 97 points. BC issued 46 ITAs to candidates under the childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202).  In the Healthcare-targeted draw, British Columbia invited 39 candidates who scored 60 points.
